Application-oriented system development

The Competence Center Heat Pipes offers application-oriented heat pipe system development. At each stage of development, we can draw on the experience of various Fraunhofer institutes in diverse application scenarios. We offer support: From 3D-printed test bodies to research in new production technologies – from wetting measurement to system integration. Together with our customers, we develop successful, application-oriented heat pipe solutions.

Consulting

Heat pipes represent complex systems. For each application, the heat pipe must be selected individually and according to the boundary conditions of the respective application. This applies, in particular, to the type of heat pipe, temperature range, heat flux density, orientation, heat dissipation (air or water cooling) and available installation space.

For applications with special requirements – for example with high heat power density to be dissipated, low weight, or tight installation space – specially adapted heat pipes may have to be manufactured.
